I was so excited to shoot this lifestyle newborn session in Aldie, Virginia with Blaine’s Man Cave nursery theme! This family choose to do an “add on” lifestyle shoot. They came to me when baby Blaine was less then two weeks old and we did all his “posed” pictures. Then, after about a month, I went to his very new home and did a lifestyle session for them. I love these sessions. I feel they are the perfect combination. You get the perfect sleepy poses with access to all my props, wraps, newborn outfits and accessories…..AND……when you are feeling more human and like yourself…..we can capture you and your baby when they are a little more alert, leading to some beautiful eye open shots! We also get to capture the nursery that you have worked so hard on completing.
We also get to capture real life. Here is Daddy burping his son after a feeding. Apparently Daddy was very good at burping. A tiny detail you may forget later. I also love the handmade sign they created for over his closet doors.
Crib shots are always some of my favorite. They are always a bucket list item for me to include in lifestyle newborn photo shoots.
Perfect Blaine. Alert and happy.
Many times I focus on 2-3 rooms in a home. Usually the nursery and the parents bedroom. Sometimes the family room. Or even the kitchen! I have been known to pick some odd-ball places simply because I liked the light or the decor was captivating.
In this session, we choose the nursery and the bedroom. Yes, there was a lot of light.
But.
Mainly because these two rooms were the only decorated rooms in the house. WHY? Because this family JUST moved in! That’s right!! They bought a brand new, newly built home, gave birth, and moved in all within a month. OH…..and she managed to decorate a perfect nursery and master bedroom. GOALS people….GOALS.
