I had a wonderful morning during this newborn session in my Leesburg, Virginia home-based studio.. This Ashburn family has been such amazing and loyal clients through my years as a newborn and family photographer. I see them at least twice a year, and it has been such a blessing to watch their these kiddos grow.
For this session, they welcomed a new baby girl. She was a such a wonderful blessing during her session.
During my newborn sessions, I also start with sibling pictures first. Usually, they are the most “desired” images and often the hardest to get. I’m typically working with a two or three year old, who tend to have their own idea of what they would like to do during the session. Nonetheless, we work together to make magic happen.
Following the sibling portion of the photoshoot, is family pictures, and mom & dad images with baby. None of these are required but are often requested.
Once these images are complete, Daddy will take the sibling for a Daddy/Daughter/Son date day!
The remainder of the session is typically 90 minutes. Taking the older kiddos out and away from the studio allows for mom to relax (which is VERY important in helping baby to relax), and for me to focus solely on capturing amazing sleepy images of your sweet babe.
Below are some of my favorites from the R family’s newborn session. Note baby girl in blue. There is nothing I love more then a “something blue” on a sweet girl. Combined with the winter floral garland makes this extra sweet.
A touch of pink for this sweet girl. I have been investing in size appropriate outfits for newborns recently. I purchase all my props from well known and trusted newborn vendors. They are adorable and add that little simplicity and texture to make an image special. They also come in handy for those parents who prefer clothed baby imagery vs. naked baby.
